On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Hermann Paintner’s first self-propelled sugar beet harvester, the traditional ROPA in-house demonstration took place in Sittelsdorf on Sunday, November 6th. Around 15,000 visitors came to this major event, which was held for the first time in six years, in mostly sunny weather. The demonstrations of potato and sugar beet harvesting made for an interesting and varied day, as did the large agricultural machinery exhibition with numerous exhibitors and the festival hall with an entertainment program for small farmers. The highlight of the day was the first sugar beet harvester from 1972, controlled by Hermann Paintner, in action in the field.
It was great to take some of the CTM family over to experience the day. View the video below which gives a great overview of the day
